Mehbooba breaks silence on South Kashmir Killings

Srinagar: Seventeen hours after the Shopian killings here in South Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti finally break her silence.
She took to Twitter and wrote: “Deeply distressed by more deaths of civilians caught in the crossfire in Shopian. My heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s families.”

Pertinently, four civilians and a militant were killed in army action after militants reportedly attacked an army check point at Pohnoo village of Shopian, though army claimed that they killed a militant and four over ground workers, a claim rejected by locals.

The body of another LeT militant was recovered from an orchard at Saidapora, some 12 kilometers away from the encounter site as well. (KNT)
